Why is Virtual Assistant Services Booming in the Philippines?

The rise in the demand for virtual assistant services around the world has brought thousands of Filipinos an amazing opportunity to showcase their skills on an international platform.

But what caused this incredible phenomenon?

Why VA Services are booming

Avoiding Burnout

The corporate world is infamous for its incredibly fast pace, where a business can stumble once and lose steam in a snap. Staying ahead is so crucial in remaining competitive and relevant  that so many professionals, executives, and business owners often find themselves tethered to work even outside their designated work hours. In fact, a 2019 LinkedIn survey revealed that a majority of U.S. professionals admit to checking in with work via phone or email while on vacation, with the fear of falling behind being the primary motivation.

However, this “always-on-the-job” attitude can have detrimental effects on physical and mental health, and can even lead to burnout, which The World Health Organization attributes to “chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.”

Virtual assistants rose to the challenge. They began offering their services remotely, and took on administrative functions such as scheduling, email and account management, appointment setting, and the like to lighten the load off the the shoulders of their clients, and give them the confidence that they won’t miss out on anything by taking time off.

Optimizing everyday business operations

Virtual assistants (VAs) have now become indispensable assets for businesses seeking to optimize their operations. From managing schedules, handling emails, and conducting market research to social media management and content creation, virtual assistants provide a wide range of administrative, creative, technical, and operational support. By outsourcing these tasks to virtual assistants, professionals can spread out the load, ensure all bases are covered, and alleviate the burden of constant connectivity enough so they can focus on essential responsibilities, such as business strategy, planning, and negotiations.

The Booming Virtual Assistant Industry in the Philippines

The Philippines has become a prominent hub for virtual assistant services, and this trend can be attributed to several factors.

Firstly, the country boasts a massive talent pool of skilled professionals, allowing businesses to access highly competent virtual assistants.

Secondly, the Philippines has a significant advantage in cultural compatibility due to its historical ties with the United States. English fluency is widespread, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between virtual assistants and their clients, which tend to be constant given the nature of the relationship.

Thirdly, Filipinos have such a caring nature, which is the reason why they’re recognized as some of the best nurses globally. In the virtual assistance industry, this translates to the attentiveness with which they do their tasks and the empathy with which they relate with their employers.

These factors have positioned the Philippines as one of the world’s top outsourcing destinations for voice and non-voice virtual assistant services.

Companies Embracing Virtual Assistant Services

Leading global companies across various industries have already recognized the benefits of virtual assistant services and have integrated them into their business strategies. Notable examples include tech giants like Google and Amazon, e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, and numerous startups and small businesses. These organizations have leveraged the expertise and cost-effectiveness of virtual assistants to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and refocus their efforts on core business functions. By adopting virtual assistant services, businesses also demonstrate their commitment to supporting their employees’ well-being and creating a thriving work environment.

The booming virtual assistant services industry in the Philippines is a testament to the changing landscape of modern work culture. As professionals increasingly prioritize work-life balance and strive to combat workplace stress, the demand for virtual assistants continues to rise.

And Tahche is here for you should you want to take advantage of the Philippines’ highly demanded virtual assistant services. Of Embracing Change and Building Lasting Connections in the Corporate World

Change is an inherent part of the modern workplace, and sometimes it brings with it the challenging reality of talented employees needing to be let go. However, within this narrative lies optimism, where the employees affected by this transition have found tremendous learning experiences, formed lasting relationships, and discovered new opportunities to further their careers.

This is true even for Tahche’s rockstar employees, who, despite being let go by their client due to internal reasons beyond their control, have managed to maintain a strong bond with their former colleagues and Tahche even as they unlock new pathways for success.

Here’s their story.

A Bittersweet Transition

Tahche had built a team of exceptional individuals — licensed architects who played a pivotal role in their clients’ achievements. Their expertise inside and outside of the field, solid dedication, and unwavering enthusiasm contributed immensely to delivering remarkable results for their client. Nevertheless, due to unforeseen circumstances, their client faced the challenging decision of parting ways with these amazing employees.

Transforming Challenges into Opportunities

While the news of their departure was undoubtedly disheartening, Tahche’s rockstar employees approached the situation with resilience and a positive mindset. They recognized that within every challenge lies an opportunity for growth. Instead of dwelling on the disappointment of being let go, they chose to focus on the invaluable experiences they had gained and the strong relationships they had forged during their time at Tahche.

When asked about their time working with Tahche and for their client, these are just a few of what they have to say:

“There’s a healthy work-life balance. Also bringing people together with gatherings and regular celebrations to ensure everyone feels included.”

“People and Culture experience in Tahche is very heartwarming and memorable.”

Building Lasting Relationships

Despite the change in their working relationship, the friendships that have been formed between the separated employees and their former colleagues are set to remain. The same could be said for their relationship with Tahche as we remain open for their re-employment should the opportunity arise and continue to be supportive of their future endeavors.

“Grateful for Eric [redacted] and the whole [redacted] people for the opportunity to work with them, for being so supportive, kind and generous to us. For providing everything we need. From the equipment to all the training. For every project we worked on and for the team we worked with. Everything we need to be an effective employee for them. There’s no other words that can describe how grateful I am. Thank you Eric. Hope to see you or work with you soon.”

Career Growth and New Opportunities

While Tahche may have to part ways with these rockstar employees, their departure opened up a world of fresh opportunities and exciting possibilities for their career. With their experience working for an international client and the skills they’ve developed throughout their stay providing them with a strong foundation for career growth locally and globally, the world is sure to be ready to embrace these amazing employees and what they can offer. We’re sure that they will be able to thrive in new environments and take on greater challenges!

A Journey of Learning, Fun, and Optimism

Beyond career advancements, Tahche’s former employees reminisce fondly about the unforgettable moments of camaraderie and joy they shared with their colleagues. They remember the lively huddle sessions, the late nights filled with laughter, the training and webinars they got to attend that also served as avenues to bond and learn together, and the collaborative spirit that fueled their collective success. These memories continue to inspire them in their new endeavors, reminding them of the remarkable culture and sense of belonging they had experienced at Tahche.

The story of Tahche’s rockstar employees, who faced the challenge of being let go by their client offers a glimpse into the power of optimism, resilience, and enduring relationships. Despite the initial disappointment, these individuals embraced change, harnessed their experiences, and will now be able to leverage their connections to embark on new paths of success.

Their journey serves as a testament to the transformative nature of setbacks, the importance of nurturing relationships, and the boundless opportunities that lie beyond unexpected turns in our professional lives.

Business-Friendly and Flexible Offshore Staffing Solutions for SMBs

Many providers of offshore staffing solutions target large, growing companies by offering their services hand-in-hand with a lock-in period and a set minimum number of hires. In doing so, they secure profits as they provide the advantages of offshoring to big corporations like Microsoft and Apple, organizations that have thousands, if not millions of dollars to spend for business scaling. At the same time, they effectively shut out small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that are understandably more risk-averse and have a lesser budget to accommodate such terms.

Yet when one of the biggest advantages of offshoring is its cost-effectiveness, why are the organizations that need it most the ones least able to access it?

SMBs face unique challenges that require innovative solutions. Tahche, a leading offshoring service provider, understands the needs of SMBs and has tailored its services to address these pain points. With a range of business-friendly features, a flexible approach, and a commitment to supporting growth, Tahche aims to be the ideal partner for SMBs.

No Lock-In Period: Your Freedom, Our Priority

One of the most significant concerns for SMBs considering offshoring services is the fear of being locked into a long-term commitment. With a lock-in period, their money is also locked into a service provider which they may still be unfamiliar with, or whose results may not be what’s expected. When you’re a small or medium-sized business with only a relatively small amount of capital and profits to go around, this is a huge risk.

Tahche eliminates this worry by offering a no lock-in period policy. We understand that business needs can change rapidly, and our aim is to be adaptable to evolving requirements. With Tahche, you have the freedom to scale up or down your offshoring operations as per your business needs. As you do so, we also provide the necessary legal support to ensure that you are able to manage your offshore employees without fear of negative repercussions.

No Employee, No Pay: Reducing Financial Risk

Managing a tight budget is a reality for many SMBs, especially for startups who have just begun their business journey with a bit of capital and a lot of prayer.

Tahche recognizes this and offers a no-employee-no-pay policy to mitigate financial risks. Unlike traditional outsourcing models that often require long-term contracts that have clients pay even when offshore employees are yet to be hired, Tahche only asks for a one-time mobilization fee and won’t charge a client further until an employee is hired for their specific business needs. This means that you only pay for the productive hours worked by your offshore team members.

This approach ensures that you only bear costs when you see tangible results, saving you valuable resources and providing greater financial flexibility.

No Minimum Number of Hires: Tailored to Your Needs

Offshoring is a great business solution to skill gaps when hiring professionals that a business needs to operate and grow. It is also a cost-effective solution that avoids the surcharge of hard-to-find skills and high office leasing rates, a sickness of most first-world countries. That’s why it has become a popular business strategy to successful businesses globaly, and why business process outsourcing, of which offshore outsourcing is a part of, reached a $261.9 billion USD valuation in 2022

SMBs, however, don’t need ten, twenty, or a hundred employees right away, especially when they’re just starting out. They might only need an administrative assistant to begin with, to manage the many responsibilities of a new business owner. Or maybe a marketing specialist and a graphic designer to start building brand awareness. And they’d rather these employees housed offshore than lease a two-person office that probably costs more than their salaries combined. But their business needs are often deemed too small to be considered by other offshore staffing service providers.

Tahche breaks away from this restrictive practice and eliminates any minimum number of hires. Whether you need a single professional or an entire team, Tahche is committed to meeting your specific needs, regardless of the size of your organization. In fact, as of this moment, we have a number of clients with only one or two active offshore employees with us. And we’re excited to have them on board, because SMBs have a large potential for growth with a partner that understands, addresses, and meets their business needs.

Supporting SMBs from the Ground Up

At Tahche, we believe that every business deserves an opportunity to leverage offshoring advantages and grow sustainably. With that, we aim to be your long-term partner in progress, whether you are a large corporation or a budding SMB.

Our team of dedicated professionals is committed to providing professional and personalized offshore recruiting services, offshore team support and strategic guidance, cost-effective office leasing in the Philippines, and other proactive solutions to help you navigate the complex world of offshoring. All with no lock-in periods, a no-employee-no-pay policy, and no minimum number of hires.

With Tahche, you can count on a partner who will be there for you every step of the way.

And while enjoying cost savings due to lower office leasing costs in the country.

Wondering why the Philippines is an ideal offshoring destination to achieve speed and quality within your organization? Let’s explore its key advantages:

English Proficiency: Effective communication is the backbone of successful collaborations. The Philippines boasts a high level of English proficiency, ensuring seamless project management and streamlined communication between your team and your offshore workforce.

Education and Skill Set: The Philippines has a robust education system, producing a diverse pool of highly skilled professionals. Whether you require IT and software development expertise, customer service excellence, or creative design proficiency, the talent pool in the Philippines has you covered.

Cost-Effectiveness: Offshoring to the Philippines offers significant cost advantages. The lower office leasing rates in the country compared to most Western countries allow your business to achieve remarkable cost savings without compromising on worker skills. As a result, it gives you the opportunity to invest more in other areas of your business to boost your growth.

Achieving ROI: Success Stories of Speed and Quality

Companies that prioritize both speed and quality have witnessed impressive returns on investment (ROI). Let’s explore some noteworthy examples:

Amazon: Streamlining its delivery processes, Amazon has set the standard for rapid order fulfillment. The company’s Prime membership program offers same-day or next-day delivery, leading to increased sales, customer satisfaction, and long-term loyalty.

Vision to Reality: Offshore Designers Bring Projects to Life

Every successful business begins with a brilliant idea, but not all aspiring entrepreneurs possess the necessary skills to transform their ideas into tangible forms that lay the foundation for a thriving business or a feasible project. This is where the expertise of designers, creatives, and artists becomes invaluable. They have the ability to take these ideas and bring them to life, bridging the gap between vision and reality.

However, finding the right professionals to hire in these fields can prove to be quite challenging. It’s not sufficient for them to possess the technical skills to create beautiful designs; they must also be able to understand and embrace your creative vision while wholeheartedly adopting the project’s mission. Only then can they produce an output that is both accurate and aesthetically pleasing, while also being practical and functional.

The search for such professionals becomes even more daunting when limited to those in close proximity. To overcome this limitation, it is crucial to expand your horizons.

So, why not widen your search and explore the possibilities that lie in hiring designers from the Philippines? With its vast pool of talented and skilled designers, the Philippines offers a promising solution to your hiring needs. By exploring this option, you open doors to a wealth of creative talent that can greatly contribute to the success of your business or project.

Reasons to hire offshore designers in the Philippines

1. Abundant creative talent

The Philippines is home to highly skilled traditional and digital artists. Schools in the country continually produce top notch graphic artists, web designers, architects, animation artists, and more, proving Filipinos’ sustained interest and dedication to the arts.

Filipino artists have been part of global productions throughout the years. For example, we have Nelson “Rey” Bohol who worked on Pixar productions such as Inside Out, Ratatouille, and Finding Nemo, Josie Trinidad who worked as a story artist for Disney productions like Zootopia and Tangled, and Anthony Ocampo who worked on visual effects for Stargate Digital’s The Walking Dead and USA Network Productions’ Helen of Troy special. They are just a few of the thousands of Filipino artists that have been building the foundations of great productions with global impact.

2. Bold, global designs

Filipino artists have a deep understanding of international design trends and standards. They exhibit a remarkable fearlessness when it comes to experimenting with and integrating various influences into their works. This ability can be attributed, in part, to the Philippines’ historical experience of colonization by both eastern and western nations. As a result, Filipinos have developed a broad appreciation for diverse design styles, enabling them to embrace and incorporate different cultural elements seamlessly.

Visit any of the Philippines’ bustling business districts in Metro Manila and Cebu and you’ll be amazed at the diversity of designs that can be seen through Philippine architecture itself. You’ll find classic Filipino structures made of wood and capiz, houses with the clean, minimalist lines of Japanese design, office buildings with the fluid lines inspired by Chinese feng shui, churches with Spanish-style bell towers, government buildings with Grecian columns, and high rises with floor-to-ceiling windows like those found in New York.

With Filipino designers, you can rest assured that your output will never be boring.

3. Cost efficiency

One of the advantages of hiring offshore designers in the Philippines is the cost efficiency it offers. The real estate cost in the Philippines is much lower compared to many Western countries, which means that businesses can access top-notch design services and house them in high class, modern facilities complete with necessary amenities at a fraction of the cost. By offshoring design work, companies can significantly reduce their overhead expenses without compromising on quality.

4. Warmth and collaboration

Filipinos are renowned for their warm and collaborative nature, making them some of the most approachable and friendly individuals you’ll encounter. With a strong sense of community, it is customary for Filipinos to live with extended families, emphasizing the importance of collective support and cooperation. This community-oriented mindset extends to the office during creative brainstorming and discussions, where Filipinos exhibit a remarkable willingness to listen, adapt, and contribute. This open and receptive approach plays a pivotal role in keeping ideas flowing and ensuring productive teamwork. By embracing your vision and supplementing it with their own insights, Filipinos ensure a collaborative environment that not only fosters creativity but also leads to enriched outcomes.

Sustainable Business Scaling: Offshoring in the Philippines

Scalability, or the ability to efficiently expand operations, adapt to market demands, and maintain a competitive edge is vital for the success of any business. It is also the key for sustained growth for those with the ambition to tap into the global market. One powerful solution that international businesses are leveraging to unlock this ability is offshoring business processes in the Philippines.

How offshoring in the Philippines support business scaling

The Philippine offshoring industry has been in the business for decades, helping large businesses like Microsoft and AT&T sustain growth while maintaining efficiency within their business operations.

Choosing to offshore in the Philippines is a strategic choice because of the following reasons:

Filipinos are globally competitive and able to fill skill gaps fast

Hiring local professionals and skilled workers often seem to be the most logical choice for most businesses. But while such a practice is sustainable for small businesses, growing businesses will likely encounter difficulties hiring locally because the demand for skilled workers can be too high for the local talent pool to supply.

Filipinos easily fill these skill gaps because of their culture that highly values education, which has led to generations of highly skilled workers. They are also proficient in English, which lets them access international resources. In addition, they are experienced in international standard practices because of their decades-long exposure to global companies.

In the Philippines, businesses can hire the right people for the job, without having to make do with who is available nearby.

Office spaces cost drastically less in the Philippines

In the US, real estate prices are high enough that adding more office spaces for a growing workforce can actually slow down business scaling due to cost restrictions. In 2022, office space leases in Manhattan cost around $100 per square foot. It’s even worse in New York where an office space lease can cost as high as $300 per square foot

In the Philippines, modern office spaces in its capital can cost as little as ₱1,037 per square meter, which is roughly $18.5 dollars. With that much savings, a business can actually hire more employees, avail of more cutting-edge resources, increase production, and afford more marketing campaigns to accelerate growth.

Experienced office management is available

The Philippines’ offshoring industry has years and years of experience in handling the offshore teams of American and other foreign businesses, big and small. As such, it already has efficient systems in place that businesses can work with right off the bat. This includes HR and management teams dedicated to providing support for offshore teams and their employers.

So even if your offshore office is in another country, you can manage your team as if they were operating just next door. But with less hassle.

Offshore teams are more sustainable than freelancers

For a small business that wants to scale up, hiring freelancers may work at first. But as the workforce grows, managing their different demands and handling their individual training becomes impossible for a business owner, especially when they should really be more focused on business strategy.

Working with offshore teams in the Philippines is much more sustainable because they operate like a local team even from miles away. Members also work in an office where they can collaborate and mentor each other, there’s a hierarchy to follow for business decisions and escalation, and there’s HR to handle issues, benefits, and other office concerns that growing businesses don’t want on their plates.

As such, business operations remain efficient and manageable even with the increased business demands involved in business scaling.

Offshoring in the Philippines for small and medium businesses is possible with Tahche

Harnessing the expertise of offshore workers and professionals in the Philippines has proven to be a game-changer. It has given businesses a competitive edge over their rivals, proof of which is their continued support of the industry after years of availing its services.

Yet availing offshoring services can be intimidating, and even risky, for small and medium businesses because they can’t afford the minimum requirements of many offshoring agencies that only target big businesses wanting to go even bigger.

Not with Tahche.

Tahche offers offshoring services to businesses of all sizes. And that includes startups who might want to start small by hiring one or two offshore professionals from the Philippines. We don’t impose a minimum number of hires because we are confident that with each employee you hire offshore with us, you can gradually improve business operations until your business is successful enough to grow your workforce up to the hundreds (maybe even more!).

We also offer modern office spaces in the Philippines’ business districts in Cebu and Manila, as well as HR and management services to ensure your employees are well taken care of, and that you remain in full control.

Unlocking Opportunities: How BPO Benefits the Philippines

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) has emerged as a transformative industry in the Philippines, revolutionizing the lives of countless Filipinos and contributing significantly to the nation’s economic growth. In this article, we will delve into the fascinating history of BPO in the Philippines and explore the multifaceted benefits it brings to the country and the Filipino people.

The BPO industry took root in the Philippines during the early 1990s, primarily driven by the country’s proficient English-speaking population, highly skilled workforce, and competitive labor costs. The industry initially focused on voice-based services, such as customer support and telemarketing, but quickly expanded to include a wide array of non-voice services like IT outsourcing, finance and accounting, and healthcare administration.

The impact of BPO on the Philippine economy has been profound. The industry has become a major contributor to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), adding about $30 billion to the economy annually. In 2019, around 1.3 million Filipinos were working for the BPO industry.   This additional income brought by the Filipino BPO workforce has allowed the government to invest in essential infrastructure projects, social welfare programs, and public services, ultimately enhancing the overall quality of life for Filipinos.

That’s the big picture. Now let’s get into the specifics. How exactly does BPO manage to contribute to the Philippine economy on such a large scale?

Job Creation and Better Compensation

One of the most significant benefits of BPO for the Philippines is the surge in employment opportunities it has created. The industry has provided millions of stable, well-paying jobs to Filipinos. Not only that but, BPOs also provide better compensation compared to other local companies. A comparison of the average annual salary of a non-BPO Filipino employee vs the average annual salary of a Filipino BPO employee in 2018 revealed that a BPO employee’s salary is more than double the salary of a non-BPO employee.

Career Advancement and Global Exposure

Working in the BPO industry offers Filipinos the opportunity to gain valuable experience with prominent multinational companies. This exposure provides a springboard for professional growth, as individuals are exposed to global best practices, advanced technologies, and international business cultures. Moreover, the training opportunities offered by BPO companies allow employees to acquire sought-after skills, further enhancing their marketability.

Reduced Dependence on Overseas Employment

The Philippines has long been known for its overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who seek employment abroad to support their families. However, with the rise of the BPO industry, many Filipinos have found viable career options within the country. This has led to a reduction in the need to work overseas, allowing individuals to spend more time with their families and contribute to the local economy.

Flexible Work Shifts

Many BPO companies operate during night shifts or offer alternative working hours, making them ideal for students who wish to pursue their education while earning a living. This flexibility allows working students to balance their academic responsibilities with their professional commitments, providing them with financial independence and the opportunity to acquire real-world experience.

Overall, the BPO industry has greatly impacted the lives of the Filipino people, and in a good way. From bolstering the economy to providing employment opportunities, BPO has become a catalyst for growth and development. The industry has not only increased the standard of living for Filipinos but also provided them with valuable skills, global exposure, and the chance to spend more time with their loved ones.

And if you want to be part of this transformative and community-building industry, why not try offshoring some of your business processes. As proven by the longevity and success of the outsourcing industry in the Philippines, Filipinos will not disappoint in providing you quality service. Not only that but with Tahche’s strict vetting practices and dedication to give you skilled employees that best address your business needs, you will be off to a great start to an amazing and profitable journey.

Communication and Productivity: Managing Offshore Teams Remotely

Offshoring (aka the practice of hiring a business team located in a different country) has become a widely accepted practice that helps organizations expand their operations and work with specialized talents that would otherwise be impossible to find or access onshore. However, given its remote nature, communication with offshore teams can be a significant issue that affects productivity. Cultural and language barriers, different time zones, and lack of face-to-face interaction can lead to misunderstandings and miscommunication that severely impact a project’s outcome.

Effective communication is essential to ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget, and with the expected quality.

So how do you achieve it when you’re miles away from your team?

Here are five ways to do it.

5 Effective ways to communicate and manage your offshore team

1. Set clear communication standards

It’s important that from the very beginning of your working relationship, you already establish your standards for communication. This includes the following:

Identify your official communication channels. Do you want to contact your team via international calls or would you rather exchange emails or use apps like Slack, Zapier, and Viber? Having official communication channels lessens the chances of lost and misdirected messages and ensures that you are always on top of any issue your team raises.

Create a systematic communication process. Meet with your team and identify the circumstances when they need to communicate, how they will do it, and who they will contact. Immediately, this streamlines the communication process. It minimizes irrelevant communication. It lets you avoid indirectness when you explicitly identify required information. It allows you to pinpoint the person in charge of an issue as it escalates. And finally, it saves your inbox from clutter if an incident is minor enough to not require your attention.

Document important exchanges. Important exchanges include project details and instructions, incident reports, performance reports, and the like. Often, documentation takes the form of writing. Documenting important exchanges avoids the loss of essential information and allows team members to go back to instructions if necessary without any additional steps or repetition from your part. This way there will be no excuses moving forward with regards to project knowledge.

2. Provide training on the use of communication tools

With the many communication tools available today, it’s common for team members to lack expertise in a specific platform. That’s why investing in training is crucial. By providing training on your chosen communication tool, you empower your team members to utilize it effectively and leverage its full potential. This is especially important if you’ve paid for additional features. For instance, if your tool offers team chats and an archive, simply having that information at hand streamlines communication and eliminates the need for repetitive direct messaging to multiple individuals involved in a particular issue. Prioritizing training ensures efficient communication practices throughout your team.

3. Encourage two-way communication and practice empathy

To be an effective manager, you need to be good at both giving and receiving feedback. Encourage two-way communication so that you get a more holistic understanding of an issue being discussed. Your team members are the ones in the field, so they probably have valuable insights to contribute.

Embrace empathy, especially when collaborating with a remote team. Although it can be challenging, it is all the more important in this arrangement. Recognize that your team operates within a significantly different context and culture, which may result in a distinct communication style. Take the time to actively listen and understand their concerns from a broader perspective. Foster a strong and open relationship with the team by demonstrating flexibility in addressing their issues. By practicing empathy, you create a supportive environment that promotes effective collaboration and enhances team dynamics.

4. Provide a conducive work environment

At least once in your life, we’re sure you’ve experienced trying to work in less than perfect conditions. Imagine when you had to work when the AC wasn’t working during summer. Perhaps you had to sit for long hours using a low-backed chair that had your muscles strained and hurting throughout the day. During those moments, were you not distracted and upset?

When your team does not have an environment conducive to work, they are less likely to be productive and communicative. They are prone to distractions, unable to focus on what you’re saying and what they have to do. They are also more likely to take breaks that affect their productivity.

As such, it would be wise to take into consideration where your team is located and provide workspaces and amenities where they can work at their best and focus on their tasks. Ensure the AC is working well, if they live in tropical countries, or that the heater can crank up the temp if they are in colder regions. Invest in noise canceling headphones, a good internet connection, and ergonomic work furniture as well for employee comfort.

If it all becomes too much, you can also partner with professional employer organizations like Tahche that can provide the best offices for lease and take care of your offshore employee needs where they are.

5. Hire skilled people familiar with the industry and its jargons

You can do numbers one to four to the best of your ability, but without the right employees, all your communication efforts can be futile.

By right employees, we mean people who are skilled and knowledgeable in your industry of work. These employees have the proper education and the necessary experience to know the ins and outs of the job. They can speak your language and understand the different jargons and scenarios that are brought up and used in team meetings.

With the wrong employees onboard, no amount of communication can lead to productivity.

F.A.S.T. Conference 2023: Expert Insights on the Future of Work

Tahche held F.A.S.T. Conference 2023 last Saturday, May 13, to talk about the future of work. For the event, industry experts and professionals, including Tahche’s CEO, Bryan Luoma, were invited as speakers to share their insights on the innovations and ideas shaping the business landscape.

The conference, streamed live on Tahche Careers’ official Youtube channel, also doubled as an online job fair. On board were Tahche’s HR representatives who received job applications, screened applicants, and conducted interviews during the span of the event.

Speakers tackled various timely topics including revolutionary offshoring practices, ChatGPT, the importance of upskilling, and hybrid work setups. If you missed the event, it’s not too late to learn about the future of work as we share the amazing insights shared by our speakers.

Bryan Luoma – Thriving in the Offshore Industry: A Company’s Resilience in the Face of Adversity

Bryan Luoma, CEO of Tahche, took the stage to share how resilience plays a huge part in survival within the ever-changing landscape of business. Without these trait, global catastrophic events would easily topple a company. Taking steps to learn and adapt new business practices such as hybrid work can keep a business on top of its game. And that is exactly what Tahche did during the COVID-19 pandemic, thus successfully securing its clients’ businesses.

He also shared Tahche’s vision of changing the offshore industry for the better, in favor of building the communities that rely on it. In particular, he noted how the Filipinos in the outsource industry share the same level of skill as professionals in the U.S. yet lack the safety nets and career growth opportunities going into the international stage as freelancers. Tahche aims to improve outsourcing in the Philippines by offering first-class Filipino professionals a first-class outsourcing experience. With Tahche to mediate, they get to work for U.S. businesses directly, with the chance for promotion. All while enjoying healthcare and mandatory government benefits.

Bryan also brought up Tahche’s new initiative to undertake the challenge of revolutionizing offshore hiring through the new Tahche app to be launched in autumn this year. Applicants will be able to upload their resumes on the app, while businesses who want to build a team offshore can browse talent profiles, choose team members, and arrange work setups all in one app.

“We are trying to become a platform where you can submit your resumes and have that same user experience but also get a real job out of it. You know, get a job where you can have an employment agreement, have a job where you can get paid overtime, have a job where you can go on maternity leave and bereavement leave, and all those other social safety nets that the Filipino people require.” – Bryan Luoma, CEO, Tahche

Allan Ngo – ChatGPT: Revolutionizing the Future of Work

Allan Ngo, founder of Digital Solopreneur, shared his insights and experience in using ChatGPT, the new AI tool that took the business world by storm this year. During his talk, he showcased the immense potential of ChatGPT as a transformative tool for content creation and work management. He even demonstrated its different capabilities including how it can be used to create an entire social media content calendar in seconds. Finally, he addressed fears about potential job losses due to AI tools, encouraging workers to change perspective and see these tools as mediums to improve their work capacity and level the playing field at the office.

According to him, automation increases work efficiency and frees up employees to engage in higher-level work, including entrepreneurship and leadership roles. AI tools are simply a part of progress that we have to embrace or risk being left behind.

“We can’t stop progress. That’s one thing. And next is, businesses are always hungry for easy ways to scale and inexpensive productivity solutions. So not only will the world move on, businesses will always think in numbers in the sense that they have to make profit otherwise competitors will. That is something we must accept. “ – Allan Ngo, Founder, Digital Solopreneur

Joel Pamo – The Power of Upskilling: Maximizing Your Employability with Certifications

Joel Pamo, Tahche’s CS Manager and certified Lean Six Sigma green belt, was the third speaker of the event. During his talk, he shared the importance of effective career planning for long-term success, which could be achieved through the consideration of personal passions and  objective skills. He also  asserted how certifications can be incredibly helpful in improving professional opportunities as they involve upskilling that lets workers stay abreast of the latest developments in their respective fields.

“Nowadays, with the evolution of technology, most companies — even I, myself — would look at candidates that already have that existing certification that they need for a specific position. (…) Having that certificate will also help (…) your ability to learn faster (…) which means improved productivity, which in the corporate world (…) means their ROI of your salary will already be realized.” – Joel Pamo, CS Manager, Tahche

Thea Peralta and MJ Tapia – Driving Business Growth Through Remote and Hybrid Work Setups

Closing the event are Thea Peralta and MJ Tapia, hardworking professionals and entrepreneurs who have been thriving through hybrid work setup. During their panel, they shared personal experiences, including both the challenges (i.e., collaboration) and advantages (i.e., convenience) of remote work. They also shared invaluable insights to make remote and hybrid work easier such as regular touch base meetings and the use of tracking tools and calendars to ensure that team members are always aligned and efficient. Finally, they gave advice to aspiring remote workers and entrepreneurs, emphasizing on the importance of taking advantage of the present.

“Don’t be afraid. Today’s generation is very lucky because they have easy access to the internet. At the same time, they’re very proficient. So make the most out of it. You won’t realize your true potential if you really don’t follow it. Best to start at a young age. Let yourself fail. You might not realize that time moves fast and later on you’re 30. And the last thing you want to do is be that age and realize you haven’t done what you want to do. “ – Thea Peralta, Entrepreneur (translated)

The F.A.S.T. Conference 2023 garnered hundreds of viewers, applicants and learners alike, making the event a resounding success. Through events like this, Tahche hopes to continuously contribute to the development of the offshore industry and the improvement of Filipino professionals’ work life.
